Spring 2 Week 1 and 2

This term we are going to be looking at Traditional Tales.

In the first two weeks back, we have focused on Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. We have enjoyed exploring porridge oats by feeling and describing their texture, discovering what happens when you mix them with water and discussing capacity by deciding which bowl of porridge might belong to which bear and how we know that.

After reading the story of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears, we thought about what Goldilocks could do to make it up to the bears. The children decided that she could write a letter to say sorry. All of the children then wrote in the role of Goldilocks and produced fantastic writing! They are using their phonics sounds and tricky words so well!

We have also loved independently making our own 'bear bread'. We did a fantastic job at buttering our bread, carefully using a knife to cut the bananas and place them on the bread to make it look like a bear. We then ate it, yum!
