A huge welcome to Hedgehogs Nursery Class, where we offer a warm and inviting environment to nurture children and prepare them for starting School.
From September 2023 we will be offering both 15 and 30 hours funded sessions for children aged 3 & 4 years old.
These hours can be taken in the following ways -
Full Days (commitment to pay extra for Lunch Club)
Morning sessions only
Afternoon sessions only
Our day starts at 8.40am and ends at 3.20pm. Morning sessions run from 08:40 am – 11:40 am. Afternoon sessions run from 12:20pm – 3:20pm.
Our main Nursery intake is September each year and children can start on or after 31st August, following their 3rd Birthday. Depending on available spaces we may also consider intakes in January and Easter, if spaces still remain. Should spaces not be available, your application will automatically be considered for the following September intake.
We operate a Nursery Lunch Club for children who attend full-day sessions. Lunchtime is at 11.40am. The children will all sit together to have lunch and will then be free to play outside, until the afternoon session begins at 12.20pm. The fee for Lunch Club is £3 per session. You can choose to either order your child a school lunch, or send them in with a packed lunch from home.
If you are sending your child in with a packed lunch please remember that we are a nut-free school, including chocolate spreads. We also support families making healthy choices and will pop a note in your child’s lunch bag if we feel an unhealthy choice has been made. The NHS ‘Better Health’ scheme website has lots of information on what is and what is not a healthy choice, including lots of fun and interesting recipe ideas.
